The CLESO Prayer by Rev’d Canon David Parrott
O God, whom saints and angels delight to worship in heaven: Be ever present with your servants in this organisation who seek through music to perfect the praises offered by your people on earth;
Grant them, iron hands that they might grasp the nettle of new music. yet, grant them, velvet fingers that we may touch tenderly the sensibilities of Your people
Grant them, feet light as feathers that they may tread softly path before them yet, grant them, firm footsteps that they might follow where You would have them go.
Grant them, failing memory that they may forget the occasional harsh criticisms yet, grant them, memory clear as crystal that they may remember the joy - and comfort - that their music brings.
And above all else, dear Lord, grant them space and time in their busy-ness that their souls may touch your soul - and that they may glimpse your beauty, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
